Not legal or professional advice
Articles on iepprogress.org are written for general educational purposes for teachers and school staff. They are not legal advice, medical advice, or a substitute for your district’s compliance office, counsel, or IEP team decisions. Laws and policies vary by state, district, and student. Verify requirements with your LEA before you rely on any example language.
Product scope
IEP Assistant helps draft progress narrative text from notes you provide. It does not file IEPs in your district system, write present levels of performance, set goals or service minutes, or replace your district’s official software. You are always responsible for reviewing, editing, and submitting accurate records.
AI limitations
Generated drafts may omit context, misstate data, or use wording that does not match your district’s forms. Treat every output as a first draft. Do not paste unreviewed text into official student records.
Student privacy
Use initials only in the product. Do not enter information you are not authorized to share. You are responsible for FERPA, IDEA, and district privacy rules when using any cloud tool.
Third-party links
Our site links to external resources, directories, and tools. We do not control and are not responsible for their content or practices.
No endorsement
References to federal regulations, vendors, or classroom practices do not imply endorsement by any government agency or school district.
